Screen Personas 3.0 SP08 IE-browser Slipstream Engine - changeFlavor not working

Hi folks,

We just upgraded from Personas 3.0 SP08 on a system with Basis 740 SP19 Kernel 753 PL-201, as well as on another system with Basis 740 SP18 Kernel 749 PL-525. All SP08 Notes (frontend, backend, required) have been applied. On both systems, we are finding the same malfunction with regard to script command session.utils.changeFlavor :

On Internet Explorer (version 11), using Slipstream Engine, when executing session.utils.changeFlavor, the busy indicator spins on, and change of flavor does not occur, even though the user has access to the destination flavor.

On Internet Explorer using webgui engine, the changeFlavor command works fine. On Chrome and Firefox, changeFlavor command works fine with both SE and webgui engines.

Has anyone else run into this ? Wondering if we're missing something, or whether there is a fix already in the pipeline.

SAP provided a solution via Client Note 2713261 Version 11. We applied this Note/Version, and it has fixed this issue. Thanks.

Hi Jay,

I just tested the flavor switching, like

session.utils.changeFlavor("005056BB59E71ED7B6A8578E2146D7CF");

in a fully up-to-date SP08 installation using IE11 and Slipstream Engine with no problem, so I'm not sure what may be going on in your system.

By the way, it'd be time to get off the old, slow and buggy Internet Explorer 🙂

Hi Tamas,

Thanks for checking it out. Agree with you about IE :-), but we still have a lot of IE11 users in our company :-(. It was ok last week (under SP06) ; our IE users in QA reported this issue right after SP08 upgrade. Could be some IE setting centrally administered by our company that is not in 'harmony' with SP08, .. which might explain why all our users (but not others) are seeing the issue . I'll look further along these lines, but thanks for checking it out on your end. Appreciate it.

Turns out that the issue is limited to a couple of specific flavors, i.e. not a changeFlavor issue in general per se.
Scenario is : IE11 + SP08 + Slipstream(SE) + specific Flavors => cannot reach/load these Flavors.
In above scenario, we are unable to reach/load these specific Flavors via Flavor menubar and direct URL link as well.
They were loading ok with IE11+SP06+SE, and they load ok with edge/chrome/ff+SP08+SE. I will have to continue looking.

Just an interim update: Wrote a ticket on this, attaching the particular Flavor that (IE11+SP08+SE) is unable to load. SAP has been able to reproduce the issue on their system, and is currently in process of fixing. Will update again when resolved. Thanks.
