Hi Gurus,
I just went live from a couple of days and I noticed a strange thing in the inspection lots, up till now I have lots from origin 01 & 04, what is strange is that the number range is jumping, it is not going as serial, it going like that 10000000089 then 10000000095, and so on, and same is happening with origin 04, beside, with origin 01 it didn't start with 10000000000, it started with 10000000069 which I do not understand.
I didn't make any adjustments in the number range, I left it as it is in the standard system.
Regards,
MaX
Hi Max,
It is normal that the inspection lot numbers assigned can have gaps in them. It is due to buffereing. Please review SAP note 62077 that explains why this can occur. You can consider changing the settings to remove buffering for this number range.
However in addition to this buffering issue it is common for gaps to exist in the inspection lot numbers. For consistency reasons the system gets an inspection lot number each time you simulate or try to create a lot. Whenever there is an error
in posting a new lot number will be consumed. SAP note 989067 also helps explain this behaviour. Unfortunately there is no possibility to avoid this behaviour.
I hope this information helps.
