Message has error status on outbd. side

Hi Experts,

Searched a lot on SDN but did not find satisfactory answer hence posting a new thread.

In SXMB_MONI, there is one message with the status 'Processed successfully' however under Outbound Status column, it has a red flag with the message 'Message has error status on outbd. side'. My questions are as follows,

1. How can I reprocess this message?

2. Can I find related message in the adapter engine? If the message has error on outbound side, does it mean that message has not reached adapter engine and stuck somewhere in Integration Engine? If so, why is it not visible in the queue?

3. How can I handle such situations? Isn't there any other way than rensending the message from source or sending the message manually with Test Message tool?

Thanks,

Dhawal

The message seems to have stuck while transferring to AE ..... are you able to get any details about the error if you click on the red flag?

One reason would be that the user may be locked (PIAFUSER) or the java stack is down

Hi Abhishek,

On clicking the red flag, no message appears. When I move the cursor over the red flag, the message is shown which I have mentioned in the subject of this thread. By whatever reason the message is in error on outbound side, can't we reprocess it by any means? If not from Integration engine, may be from Adapter engine? No provision has been done by SAP to resend such stuck messages? That is clearly shortcoming of PI if it does not provide this facility.

Your views on this would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dhawal

HI,

Please, check this:

Go to SM58 and check if there is any entry. if so please check the error,

also go to RWB>Component Monitoring>Adapter Engine-->Communication Channel Monitoring and select the Channel that correspond to the message that fail in PI.

let me know .

1) What is the status of your queues (SMQ1/2)?

2) Can you check in RWB if there are any errors in Adapter Engine monitoring

Regards,

Abhishek.

Hi Rodrigo,

Since the stuck message is a couple of weeks old and Communication Channel log shows only few latest messages, I am not able to see the error due to which the message was not sent out.

Hi Abhishek,

SMQ1/SMQ2 output is blank. All the queues are clear.

Any other way of handling this?

Hello Dhawal,

As mentioned by Rodrigo, please check SM58.

You should be able to find an entry for your failed message over there.

Check if it is because of a locked user,in this case, entry can be executed after unlocking the user.

In case of errors like Time limit exceeded, you can simply execute LUW.

(By default,in SM58,your username appears, don't forget to remove this, when you try to search for failed entries)

Let us know if this helps.

Shweta

Hi Rodrigo, Shweta and Abhishek,

Thanks for your valuable inputs. My problem is solved. An entry was stuck in SM58. I reprocessed LUW and red flag in the message changed to checkered flag.

Best Regards,

Dhawal
