Installing CR 2008 SP3

Hi,

I got an error today when starting CR 2008 SP2: a pvlocal.dll is missing.

So I downloaded the latest SP3 and tried to install it, but I got errors saying that the dlls failed to register, error 1904

How can I solve this. CR has been workgin as SP1 and SP2 for more nearly 2 years, and I do not understand what has happened.

Thankfull for all help!

Hello,

I don't know what that dll is, it doesn't belong to CR. Try using Google search or Bing to find out who it belongs to.

As for the 1904 error it means either your current Microsoft Installer is out of date or there is a missing dependency to install CR.

Try doing a Repair install of CR SP2, if that doesn't work then try repairing all of your installed software unless you can find the owner of that dll.

ProcessMonitor from Microsoft may help also to track down who owns or is trying to load it.

Could be a dependency on anti-virus software and you may have been infected.

Thank you

Thanks for help, I tried repairing SP 2 but that did not work, so I uninstalled CR, and re-installed it fråm V1, and that helped,
