I have some questions related to using CR2008 with VB6
1.We have CR 8.5 version used with our VB6 application.
we are planning to migrate CR8.5 to CR2008.Is CR2008 compatible with VB6.
2.If CR2008 is compatible with VB6,what are the steps followed when using CR2008 with VB6.
3.When we try to include Crystal Report viewer component from vb6 environment we are getting "Error accessing system registry error".What is the problem here.
4.What are the other changes we need to consider while migrating from CR8.5 to CR2008 in VB6 environment.
Please help us on this.
Regards

Hello Vinutha,
There are no COM components shipped with CR2008 that will work in VB6. Was your 8.5 application using the Report Designer Component (RDC)? If so, then the last version of Crystal Reports that supports the RDC and VB6 is Crystal Reports XI Release 2 (CR XIR2 (v11.5)).
With Crystal Reports 2008 (v12.x) you'll have to migrate your application to the Crystal Reports .NET SDK. There are "sticky posts" at the beginning of the .NET Development - Crystal Reports - - that list getting started resources for the CR.NET SDK.
