Dear MM gurus,

Our Project is support Project.Till now the client has not maintianed Volume Field & Volume Unit Field mentioned below in Material Master.

In Material Master Basic Data 1 View :

Gross Weight 0.020 Weight unit KG

Net Weight 0.020

Volume -

---

Volume unit ---

Now the client wants to maintian Volume and Volume Unit.The client is asking would there be any Impact any where by maintaining this Volume Field.(In any Module MM,SD,PP ...etc)

For Information this Field is not used in any of Z-Reports.

Hi,

Weight Unit:

Unit referring to the gross weight or net weight of the material.

The unit of weight is a required field in the "Sales" view since it is copied to sales orders for the material. You cannot change it in the sales order.

Volume:

The volume and its unit always refer to the base unit of measure.

There is no effect by maintaining this data.

But it occupies storage space of the table
