Hello. We are currently facing an issue on our project. Our multinational client has actually ECC system as source data of IBP. The client wants to move from ECC to S4. We know the integration modules from any systems (ECC or S4) are the same (HCI for time based/SDI for order based).
But, do you have any particular recommendations, advantages or disadvantages of having S4 instead ECC as a source system?
Thanks for your answer,
gaurav
Hi Gaurav,
Having S/4HANA and ERP data integration to the IBP system is the same approach. SAP introduced S/4HANA and ERP supply chain add-on for data integration for time series based planning as per 1902 release.
In my opinion SAP focus more into S/4HANA so having S/4HANA is an advantage because following are the points at a high level.
1. S/4AHAN covers GATP (Global available promise) and PP/DS (Production planning and detailed scheduling) in the same box.
2. IBP can be used for demand, supply and inventory planning purpose.
S/4HANA acts as a digital core and IBP is supply planning tool.

Lingaiah
