I hope you can assist. I am relatively new to SAP BPC and have been trawling the support site/forums without much luck, to research possible solutions to a recurring issue at my client site. To clarify, I am not at the client site as an SAP consultant as I am working more on the IT side.
The client's solution is SAP BPC version 7.xx and the financial system is Sun Accounts version 5.xx
As part of the monthly close activities, the client runs consolidation activities using BPC in Excel, which imports data from the main financial application, Sun Accounts.
The recurring issue has been that the connection between Sun and BPC drops and without any appreciable knowledge of product architecture, we have been resorting to restarting servers, which often time resolves the issue. My concern however is that we still do not know what causes the issue and I would be grateful if someone can point us at possible break points in the connection process.
From the little I have been able to understand, SAP is using the SQL server integration service to call its data manager package, which in turn drives the import work.
