InfoObject in 0EMPLOYEE to map with CALMONTH field in 0HR_PA_0.

Hi Experts,

I am working on PA in BW-HCM implementation.

I don't find corresponding InfoObject in 0EMPLOYEE InfoProvider in BW 7.0 to map with CALMONTH field in DataSource 0HR_PA_0.

I added 0CALMONTH into attributes of 0EMPLOYEE and then tried to map 0CALMONTH to CALMONTH field but there are issues with activating the Transformation Rules.

Please let me know if there is another way of doing it. Or I'll send you the detailed Error Message.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chandu.

Hi,

0HR_PA_0 is the datasource that extracts actions data from Infotype 0 action. The time level is the day not month.

Have a look to the business content and map 0CALDAY in infocube via the routine provided in BCT (end date ...), then compute 0CALMONTH via 0CALDAY.

Cheers

Hi Laurent

Does this mean I shouldn't use 0HR_PA_0 datasource to load 0EMPLOYEE as been indicated in BCT at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/63/351e3c6a2fc036e10000000a114084/frameset.htm?

However, it was my initial understanding that Transaction DataSources are mainly used to load DSOs / InfoCubes, but was quite surprised to see that the link above tells to load a Master InfoProvider using Trans DataSource.

Anyhelp is appreciated.

Thanks,

Chandu

0EMPLOYEE_ATTR is used to extract data from infotypes. These data are considerated as attributes not "transactionnal" data like a line item purchasing level for example, that's the reason why these data are managed like this.

I can add that infotypes data are all begin + end date, you can not extract these type of data like a line item type. That's the reason why SAP extract these data like this, I hope I'm quite clear.

So, if you wan to extract infotypes data, you can use 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR and you will map the 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR fields in the target infocube via the right type of a transformation, via infooject type, I don't remember well. If you want to add additional fields to this extract you can do it of course.

0HR_PA_0 is the salary extractor that creates a month view in combination with 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR when you map the 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR with the target fields in the infocube. You can notice that the BCT does not use navigational attributes in this cube, because, I think 0EMPLOYEE_ATTR managed historical data with begin + end date. That's the reason why when you map fields in the cube you use the end date routine to get the last "historical view" of your data.

0HR_PA_0 datasource has to be used if you want to have a month view of you HR data, you have to use it. There is no other way to do it. Test in in RSA3 in yoy will see what I mean.

I hope my words are clear.
