Check in Archive in Create / change DMS screen

Dear Friends,

When I am creating / changing on DMS screen trhu CV01N / CV02N , I could see in Menu tab; Environment - Check in archive.

What we can do with this ?

When I clicked on this, it says no "Entry ZGA does not exist in TOAOM (check entry)" (ZGA is doc. type). The table TOAOM is SAP ArchiveLink: Meta table for links. i.e. we can store the DMS documents in archive link ?

When I check for the table TOAOM it is for Edit links in Archive link-- Basic customizing.

Can I know the link between archive link & DMS screens ?

Hi there

If you want to use ArchiveLink, you have to maintain follow something:

Maintain Content Repository for ArchiveLink in the path SPRO => SAP Netweave => Application Server => Basic Service => ArchiveLink => Basic Customizing =>Define Content Repositories. Create new Content Rep. with the name 2 char (important) and Document Area is ArchiveLink. If you don't have Content Server, you can use SAP System Database for testing. The table for content you can copy from some content table of other Content Repositories.

Next, go to Edit Link. If the line item with Object Type DRAW and Document Type DRW appears, change Content Rep. ID to your Content Rep. ID created above.Otherwise, you should create a new item with Object Type DRAW and Document Type DRW .

In this step, ArchiveLink is customized. Then, you go to Tcode DC20, define the Data Carries for DMS and use Content Rep. maintained in above steps.

After doing this, shall I need to create in CV01N or another transaction.

Hi

the path to edit Link: SPRO => SAP Netweave => Application Server => Basic Service => ArchiveLink => Basic Customizing => Edit Link

In there, each line item will have the values such as: Object Type, Document Type,Content Rep.ID...ect.

Have 2 cases:

1.Object Type DRAW and Document Type DRW appears in a line item => You change Content Rep. ID by yours

2.Don't find out them, just create a new item with Object Type DRAW,Document Type DRW and yours Content Rep. ID

After that, you can try again checking in your DIR to ArchiveLink

Hi Sai,

DMS can use either ArchiveLink or KPro to store documents on the Content Server or other third party content servers.
