Problem with delta load

Hi Experts,

Daily I do a Delta Update from R/3 into BW ( ODS) through a process chain.Yesterday it so happened that due to Heavy load in R/3 Basis has cancelled my job and i forgot to delete data and to repeat delta.Today Process chain has triggered new Delta and request is still running for more than 12 hours.

Normally when request has failed it should not allow any request also it asks whether to repeat delta or not ? But why is the request still running for such a long time .Please Help me .

    Hi Rathy

    Thanks for ur prompt reply

I dont see any records in ODS for the failed delta request.

Could you please elaborate how can I check in RSA7 wether I did not loose any data.

BTW my system is down for weekend backup. I will get back to you on Monday morning (IST).

Thanks a lot for ur responses.

    Warm Regards,

    Nanduri Aditya

Nothing to worry about the delta loads.

when the delta load fails it will not allow the next deltas until you make the request to 'Red' and delete and trigger infopackage for 'repeat delta'

If you don't delete the failed delta request.. the next delta request will show you initially as yellow.. if you click on it and refresh ll it will turns as red... that means the request you see was hanged (actually the job terminates at R/3)

RSA7 - find your datasource and you will see number of entries for the delta - you can select and click on details for more info

      Thanks!

the job u had mentioned as got cancelled, was it the r/3 to bw load

If not the delta would just run as usual..check in rsa7 the delta records and repeat delta records..should give u an idea of the data which has got loaded/loading

    Regards,

    Rathy

    Hi Rathy,

The job was cancelled in R/3

To update you my problem .This job has been completed in R/3 and BW today. Some records were added into my ODS. But it was not activated since request there was request in QM status RED before this. Now my question is How can i retrieve previous delta records.

    Warm Regards

if the job was cancelled in r/3 and there was no data transfer in that previous request, i dont think u lost any delta.

U can delete the red request and activate the new one.

Also u can cross check the data in rsa7, go to rsa7 in r/3, select ur data source ..click on details icon above, and check the data for repeat delta records, if these data os already there in ur ods.if its there then no harm in deleting the red request

      hope it helps

      Regards,

      Rathy
