Delete Planning Combinations from IBP

Hello All,

I am trying to delete planning combinations from IBP. I already tried deleting those using Excel Add-in. However could not get deleted because it complains about having keyfigure data. I tried to delete using "Purge Key Figure Data" operator by creating application job, but with required option selected. I tried the option of both Older than and Newer Than Period Offset, but it did not help delete the unwanted planning combinations. Here is the screenshot.

Please suggest better solution to delete planning combinations from IBP. Am I missing anything in above option which I tried? Preferably, I would like to achieve this using application job in Web UI.

Requesting your input in this regard.

Thank you

Hi Satish,

In Purge KF operator use different values (ex. 100 or 300 or -100) for both period offset, it should Purge the KF data and delete planning object at the same time.

Yes you are right. It works when you use some number in period offset field. (24, -24, 300, 100 etc).It worked when I tried the value -24 in period offset while using Older than and Later Than Period Offset options. It was able to delete the planning combinations. This is a learning how to get Purge Keyfigure operator to delete unwanted combinations.

Thank you

Hi Satish,

Probably this could be due to scenarios present in system which might be using these combinations.

Please delete any such user-defined scenario and then run purge operator.

Thanks,

Hi Satish,

What do you mean by "but with required option selected"?

Also, what happened when you tried without success via Purge KF data app job? Did it fail? Did it return "0 records removed" with older than and later than offsets? Which values did you enter on the period offsets on all attempts?

Are the unwanted combinations actually abandoned combinations which does not have master data values anymore? In that cause, you can use Purge Non Conforming operator instead;

Kindly provide more details.

Cheers,

Ivan

Thanks Ivan for your response to my question.

Here is the screenshot of application log and clarification on the questions which you asked.

The log says "n" number of planning objects records purged from Baseline version, but I am still able to select those combinations in the Excel. So as if it did not delete(purge) those combinations.

1. I tried with different settings which you could try within Purge Key Figure Data operator.

2. Tried with both options : Older than and Later Than Period Offset with Default value of 0.

3. These are not abandoned combinations. They have these master data associated with it. We routinely runs Purge Non-confirming data operator to take care of any inconsistent/non-conforming data.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.
