Trouble with SE63 form translation

Hi experts,

im currently working on a pdf form,

i have to print the form in a retrieved language from the backend.

i have set-up docparams fields langu and country with the retrieved language and sent it to the interface.

i have also maintained the translation in SE63 deDE with the appropriate translations for the form.

when i run the program and try to preview the form, only one text was translated. this was the text i translated first to check if this kind of set up would work. i thought it would work since the first of the texts was translated, but when i translated(maintained the texts in se63) the latter of the form, the other texts were not translated when i ran the form again.

what am i doing wrong?

any help is appreciated.

thanks and regards,

shockadis

PS: when access SAP with DE language, when i open the form, the texts are in DE language.

I bet you didn't activate the form again. Yes, as completely moronic as it sounds (can you tell I hate SE63?) , after a translataion, you still have to go back and re-activate the form even though the layout didn't change. Try it and let me know? Past that, also make sure you cleared (or waited for it to clear) the cache for the form(s).

question.. what event triggers the system itself to clear the cache?

is this how i clear the cache? How do i access system administration?

Choose System Administration u2192 Monitoring u2192 Knowledge Management u2192 Cache Monitor.

Delete the following caches:

■ ca_pipeline

■ ca_xmlforms_renderlistitems

■ ca_xmlforms_showforms

i tried activating the form and it didnt work..

thanks for the reply.

EDIT: found cache monitor in tcode RSRCACHE

but cant see the fields to be deleted above..

(maybe this is a different cache monitor.?)

Hi,

i also face the same(little diff) kind of problem several times , That time i simply use the logged into that language and create the TM once again . Now it run properly in prod.

My one is a little one , So if ur one is also a small one then you can try it out , which will take hardly 10 mints .

Thanks,

Jo

Hi,

i didnt use text modules, just texts.

but i also repeated the procedure about 3 times, now it shows most of the translations (i dont know what i did to make it so though). but when make changes in the translations, it stil doesnt reflect in the run.

i really think it has something to do with the cache.

thanks for the reply..

regards,

shockadis

Oh yeh! I forgot to mention that...thought it was obvious. You DO have to login in the language you want to translate too (no idea why). I run two separate logins .....one in English and the other in the language I want to translate to so I can figure out what I am doing. haha

I do all my translations. Save it. Go back to the regular SFP dialog. Go to the first tab (Properties?) and just make a little change ot the form description....save it....change it back....save it....then activate. That always did it for me consistently.

It's a pain.

Hi Chris,

let me just clarify,

so the steps in updating the translations are:

1. login in the language i want to translate to

2. translate the form (in se63? using what login language? im assuming in the language you want to translate to)

3. save it.

4. go back to sfp, change, save, change back, save and activate?

still doesnt work..
