Hi,
we already use PP-PI and want to go with more real time data entry. Can someone recommend if we should use PI Sheets or XSteps? Can you use XSteps with PP-PI?
We are also considering MII
Regards,
Dom
Hello:
There are two options to generate PI Sheet:
Alternative 1 : characteristics- based processs instrucction
Process instruction are asigned to the phases of the master recipe. Characteristics are configuration data. This is the older alternative. This alternative is only for:
* Process order (PP-PI) in all releases.
Alternative 2: XStep- based process instruccion.
XSteps are reusable and you can mantain in a Standar XStep Repository as a Master Data. This alternative is available for :
* Process orders (PP-PI) As of R/3 4.7 Extension 2.0,
* Producction order (PP) As of ECC 6.0 Ehp 3.
For a future system conversion to SAP S/4HANA,SAP recommends to use XStep-based process instructions instead of characteristic-based process instructions:
* 2268116 - S4TWL - ABAP-List-Based PI-Sheet
In addition, SAP recommends to use Browser-based PI Sheet instead of ABAP-list Based PI Sheet:
* 397504 - Support for ABAP list-based PI sheet.
Best regards,
Milton Gallegos Changa
