Hi Brian,

First off, you'll note that I've changed the tag for your question, as I think you're talking about the SAPGUI client software that is installed on your desktop, and not the WebGUI or other browser-based client. Also, I'm certain you are talking about the GUI functionality, and not logging and tracing of activities. Choosing the correct tag is critical if you want to get your question in front of people who are actually interested in and experienced with your topic.

To your question. Assuming you have permission to edit your SAPGUI configuration, you should be able to setup your own system connection definition. Indeed, it very likely is already there for you, as the Shortcut entry requires a Connection entry. First, open SAP Logon from your start menu. If you're using Windows 10, it'll show up in the menu under a folder called SAP Front End.

In the SAP Logon window, you probably have three top-level folders: Favorites, Shortcuts, and Connections. The shortcut you are using is probably stored under Shortcuts, so select that folder. You should then see something in the Connection column listed for the shortcut:

Switch to your Connections folder, and see if there's a connection listed there with the same name (note, in my example I have subfolders, but your setup may be different):

You should be able to just double-click that connection entry and logon to the system with the regular starting menu.

As a workaround, you can always just use the shortcut to logon, and then enter /ns000 in the transaction command entry box to get to the start menu, or click the yellow upward-pointing "Exit" button:

The tcode s000 will give you an error message, but you can ignore it, as it should take you to the start menu nonetheless.

Cheers,
