How to reset the deadline on a forwarded workitem?

I have a modeled deadline for Requested End in a custom workflow. If the deadline is reached and the user goes into their SAP Inbox and simply right clicks on the workflow item and forwards it to another user, I need to be able to reset the deadline as if it has never been reached because it's in a new users Inbox.

I have added an enhancement to the function module SWW_WI_FORWARD to change the container elements that are used in the expression of the Requested End expression. However , that doesn't seem to reset the deadline. ?

Your help with regards to this is much appreciated!
