How do I fix date?

Hi Team,

I want one suggestion for below query -

1) I want to fix start date e.g 01st January of every year in "Start Date" and "End Date" should be today, so when we checked in reporting object there I did not get any option to select "Start Date" from 01st January? and for today I had selected "Today with no time component"

Question for selection to "Start Date" as well as this will change after the completion of year....means 2019 is complete then automatically 2020's report will start from 01st January 2020....

    Hi Amit,

This should really be a predefined filter in the query (you don't need a prompt), as you want to the Start and End Date to be selected manually. Create the below filter in the Universe, using the OrderDate or whatever date you want to filter on.

This is the syntax for Oracle (Trunc will return first date of year, and Sysdate returns current date)

    OrderTable.OrderDate between TRUNC(SysDate,'YEAR') and SysDate

If the backend database is not Oracle, just google for syntax to get firstdate of year and current date, you should be able to do it easily.

    Thanks,
    Mahboob Mohammed
