Backups

Hi,

We have the foll. backup strategy in place:

Full DB backup every Saturday

Trx Log backups every day

Java Export every Sunday

What I want to know is that in case the DB crashes say on Wednesday, would I be able to restore the Full Saturday backup followed by the Trx Log backups till Tuesday & recover all the data till Tuesday's Trx Log backup ?

for the ABAP part, yes.

For the Java part all changes to the filesystem will be lost (if you deployed e. g. patches between saturday and the Wednesday).

Post an SP application we'd definitely be taking additional backups..

So basically my strategy is full proof..

if the DB crashes say Wed. I can restore till Tuesday evenings T log backup n have all my data till tues. evening.
