Getting the edited value of a certain extension field

Hi,

I have created an extension field named unit price, the users gets the value from the master data. My problem is when a user edits the value of unit price, inputting a special price which does not come from the master data, the value that I am getting and passing thru the forms is the original value which is from the master data and not the edited one that the user inputs. Any suggestion on how to fix this? Appreciate all the help.

Regards,

JM

    Hi JM,

I can only assume that the new edited value isn't getting saved to the Master Data. Do you want this value to be saved to the Master Data?

You probably want to make sure that the Form is pulling the data from the Extension Field and not going into the Master Data for the value. You may need to create a Custom Form or extend an Existing one to make sure it it populating with the data you want.

It is hard to help without having the system open.

    • Hi JM,

It depends on your Business Use. This is already a standard SAP function in some cases. The Sales Order BO already has the option to add a special price of an item to the Sales Order and this will be present in the Invoice but not change the Master Data. You can set up Contracts using the Contract BO so certain customers get a special price that will always be present.

In your case I think the best option is to save the value the user inputs to custom Extension field and use this field in your form, but I'm not sure what if you're using a Standard Form or a Standard BO.
