Webi Section or Break

Hello,

I want to section or break a report on a hierarchy, but I only want the sections to include what they entered on the prompt and not all of its children.

So if they enter rollup1,rollup 4 and leaf.

I want section/break

rollup1

report

rollup 4

report

leaf

report

Nothing else. is this possible?

    Hi,

Did you tried creating a variable using Userresponse("Hierarchy Prompt Object name" or "Text of Hierarchy prompt"), Use this variable as a section or break.

    Thanks,

    Jothi

    Hi,

Please try using the same object in the section as you use for the prompt object

. For eg: Sector name object in the section and in the query filter the same object as prompt

    SectionSector Name1BreakLevel 1Level 2Level 3SectionSector Name2BreakLevel 1Level 2Level 3
And if you select the Sector 1 and Sector 2 in the prompt obviously the same values will be filtered out in the section used too.

    Regards,

    Ramya

This did not work if users enters more than 1 value.

    Hi,

UserResponse() is always a delimited string like x;y;z

    Try this

    =Replace(UserResponse("Hierarchy name");";";Char(13)+Char(10)).

    Thanks,

    Jothi

This did not work. It did parse the field, but the data in the report wasn't filtered on how it was parsed.
