Can we use a complete application as a shell bar plugin application

I have created a sapui5 application having multiple views which has all possible functionality like routing, navigation, etc.

Is it possible to use it as a shell bar plugin application?

What functionality you want to achieve using the launchpad plugin..? Ideally they should be very simple like button click action or some popup to show some information

I need to use it like a mail box, so will it be a good idea to do it?

and could you please explain what does a subitem mean?

Is there any reason for not going with the Tile option..? You can still go with the plugin but you need to open it as a popup and might restrict the navigation functionality.

Hi Mahesh, by tile do you mean a separate fiori app? the requirement is to use this app to be able to open from shellbar(if possible). i tried implementing some logic but routing doesnt seem to work properly. using router allows us to navigate , hitting the controller and modifying the url as well but for some reason the view isnt loading and i'm still on the home page of launchpad.

You meant to say that if you click on the button in the launchpad, it should open the mail app? like a regular UI5 which will be opened from the tile but you want it to open from the launchpad button is it?

You have to put your code in subitem.

And what the interest of doing that ?

Be careful about authorization, everybody logged can run launchpad.
