ECATT on PI 7.1

Experts,

We have just upgraded to PI 7.1. our ECATTS from the earlier version are not working anymore. There are differences in the SU01/SU10 screens on the latest version, we decided on creating new ECATTs. I am not able to write them properly. When i am trying to write a Script to assign an user a role. It is not selecting the Roles tab. Tried to find notes/info about t6he changes. could not find any. Can you please help me resolve this

I find it strange that you found the necessity to use eCATT for role assignment in a PI system.

How many roles do you have?

How many users do you have?

In my experience SU01 does the trick. SU10 should not be a problem for adding roles to groups of users in one go.

Scripting it is just a hassle.

I would agree with Julius on this.

Still you need to do this

First make sure you have not copied the old script and then trying to modify it to work on your new upgraded system

what you do is simply write a new script for PI 7.0. I have faced similar situation when I took Scripts from the past and modified them to work on upgraded system.

Hope this gives a good direction.

why dont you discuss your query with your basis team. They might fix it. or post your query in basis section for better solution

As you sid it is an upgrade project, some support packages / configuration might be missing..

Some suggestion from Gregor Wolf but for 4.7 (guess)

And I hope you followed correct steps while creating ECATT scripts. Using SECATT tcode.

As of Basis 740 Ecatt won't work for role assignment using SU10. The recording returns only the reference user info and not the role field info that is normally made the parameter. For production support Ecatts are not used as often, however if you are deploying multiple systems for test, training and production go-lives they are very useful.

Likely a change in the basis level broke a good tool, I'm opening a note with SAP and I'll post the results when I get a response.
