SAP PPM 6.1 - Resource management

Hi all,

In the SAP PPM 6.1 version it's possible to create Resource Pools and Teams

What is the target ?

Can we assign teams to Tasks and Roles ?

Is it only to create reporting ?

It's not clear for us

Hi Thierry,

For staffing in PPM the teams and resource pools are not relevant. A role can only be staffed with a resource - not with a team.

Thanks for your answer.

I undertand that it can help to create pools of ressources to support the ressource manager for staffing.

The question we have behind is: Can we dedicate a team to an activity in PPM ?

Our Customer would like to be able to staff in PPM on a team level to be able to distribute tasks into the dedicated activites within a more flexible staffing tool out of SAP.

Hi Thierry,

A "Resource Pool" can be created to comprise resources and resource manager. The resources can be assigned to the resource pool by location, organizational unit, team, ...

"Team": You can summarize some resources to a team - which can be used as selection criteria to assign the resources to the resource pool.

The resources which are assigned to the resource pool are afterwards available for the Resource Manager in "Resource Management > Staffing Overview/Resource Overview".
