What is SRM-MDM Catalog and why using ?

I'm new in for SRM-MDM Catalog . I didn't find enought documents.Can you explain ?

What is Catalog and Why using ? What kind of scenario implementing in SRM-MDM Catalog ?

if you have specific documents,can you share with me ?

HI，Turgut：

MDM －Master Data management .It is the electric procurement system . We use the CCM before it .But SAP will not support the CMM after 2013 .

You can use the SRM -MDM any scenario .When you create the SC ,PO ,FRX ,you can select the product from MDM .
