Barcode printing of smartform

Hi Experts ,

I am creating a barcode for PDF417 in smartform.

Now I want to reduce the size of this barcode cause PDF417 have width 50 MM and hight 20 MM and we are using laser scanner and infrared scanner.Infrared scanner took 30 to 40 second for reading and laser scanner took 10 to 15 seconds.

Due to big of barcode it is taking very much time of read it.

Tell me how to reduce the size of barcode.
