Hi,
I am looking for a solution for the following problem:
Monthly and year-to-date sales figures which come out of BI InfoCubes have to be commented per region by the responsible sales people. The comments are like: "Sales in country x are 5% above budget because ...." The length of each comment is variable - no limit (half a page per comment is possible). Formatting (normally only bold or not bold) has to be possible. The sales people shall enter the comments by themselves - so ideally no uploading of files by BI team.
After all comments are entered the figures (in tables) and the comments shall be put together in a pdf like:
Table 1 (Country x)
-
Monthly Comment (Country x)
YTD Comment (Country x)
-
Table 2 (Country y)
-
Monthly Comment (Country y)
YTD Comment (Country y)
-
Does anyone have an idea how to do this with the BEx tools? I know of mainly two solution to handle texts in BI:
1.) A lot of 60-digits-InfoObjects put together - but: no formatting options and not really comfortable
2.) Using KM documents and the commenting function - but: 1. Entering comments is not very comfortable and 2. How do I get the comments in my report between the tables as shown above?
Is this requirement so unusual that nobody has done this before?
Looking for help! Thanks a lot.
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
I'm not clear as to how users would be entering comments in your case & how are these being pushed to BI for reporting. But sometime back came across the below blog that talks about the 60 char limitation & possible workarounds. Maybe it could help you with your requirement.
