Hi All,

I want to change Single cycle pln to Strategy maintenance plan.

Could you please tell what all are the benefits of Strategic maintenance(Time Based).

Will it save some time for Planners?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sanjay Tiwari

In a broad way to understand,

Many single cycle plans can be managed as a single Strategy Plan.

For example:

Suppose there is a tasklist having 30 operations to be performed on an Equipment

Operations 1 to 10 of to be carried out every 30 days, u

Operatios 1 to 20 every 120 days and

Operations 1 to 30 every 365 days.

Now you can have this planned into 3 Single cysle palns. OR

You can have this into a single Strategy Plan.

This is the fundamental thing to understand about this.

To go for this you have to create Strategy through IP11.

You need to mention this Strategy in the Tasklist and 'MntPakgs' to be mentioned in the Tasklist.

Hi All,

Thanks for a quick response.

It means in the above example we will create 3 task list for one strategy plan??

No

It is only one tasklist with 1 to 30 operations.

If you go for 3 single cycle plans you will have to break this into 3 different Tasklists.

Oprn 1 to 10

Oprn 1 to 20

Oprn 1 to 30

But in a strategy plan you will have only one Tasklist with Oprn 1 to 30 and manage all cases.

This is achieved by mentioning the Strategy you are creating thru IP11, in the Tasklist Header page,

AND

Marking the frequesncy of each operation in the 'MntPkgs' pushbutton in the operations page of the Tasklist.

(This 'MntPkgs' push button in the oprations page will be available only after you mention the Strategy in the T/L Header page)

After this you have to create a Plan through IP42.

It is not difficult to understand.

You should try this first in Sandbox or Test servers to understand fully.

Hi

there is no benfit of single or stretegy plan

It depends on your scenario

see you have AC whose filter to be cleaned in every month say on 1 st day of month no change in your y month yearly plan you may change this filter after say 4 years

but if you have plan say every month AC filter to be cleaned and on evey sixth month to be replaced by new one

what you will do go for strategy plan with 1 month and six month on sixth month no need to clear the filter just replace it by new one there you maintain the hierachy this is how you will use strategy plan

Joges,

All the 30 operations cannot have in single task list if frequency was different. It works only if it has the same frequency. Othwrwise it should have three different task list with appropriate operations on it. This does not mean that, we should have multiple strategy plan rather we could maintain in the same plan with multiple maintenance item.Again you will have sperate work orders for each item corresponding to the task list.

Multiple maintenance item is certainly one way to club diffrent single cycle plans. The discussion in this direction leads to understanding the basics of Maintenance Item.

But the present discussion is about basics of Strategy Plan, and this is being discussed under Single maintenance item environment.

AND in Strategy Plan the situation of 30 operations with different frequencies (30D, 120D, 365D) will be addressed through only one Tasklist (One Maint item).
