Hi All,
I am using deski with BOXI Rel 3 sp2 and I have a report which has 4 tabs. When click on
'Edit data provider', I get 3 options i.e. queries I assume.
How I do I know which query relates to which report tab?
Many Thanks
There is no direct relationship between a query and a tab. I can have all 3 data providers on one tab, or one data provider presented three different ways on four tabs. So you can't find the information you're looking for without examining the data on each block (table, chart, or crosstab) and determining which data provider it comes from.
I can even merge two (or three or more) data providers into a single block.

It wasn't a silly question. I apologize if my answer made it seem that I thought so. There is essentially a "many-to-many" relationship between data providers and blocks. The overall structure of a document looks like this:
Document -< Report -o< Block
Where one document can have 1 or more reports, and a report can have zero or more blocks. For data it looks like this:
Document -< Data Source -< Data Provider -< SQL Statement
What this means is that a document can have one or more data sources. Each source can be used in one or more data providers. And each data provider might generate one or more SQL statements.
Finally:
Data Provider >o-o< Block
This is what I talked about earlier. Each block can have show results from zero or more data providers, and each data provider can be used in zero or more blocks. Meaning a data provider does not have to be used in a block, and a block can consist entirely of made up data (constants, formulas, or variables) and not reference a data provider at all.
Thanks Dave
