Restrict Stock Transport Order if order quantity confirmed in Sales Order

Hello,

We have a following requirement:

A material 'X' is having unrestricted quantity 15 in plant 1000. We create a sales order for this material with all 15 quantities with confirmed 15 quantities in schedules line for a delivery date 15 days from today.

Now if we create a stock transport order to move this material to a different plant, SAP ignores the fact that 15 quantities are confirmed in a sales order and lets us create STO with any quantity <= 15 (As unrestricted qty. is 15). This brings in a risk of not able to deliver all 15 quantity to the customer.

Can someone guide me, how can I achieve a scenario where STO won't consume the quantity already confirmed in sales order.

Thanks,

Punit

    Hi,

Please to find topics about "ATP" and "Availability check". This will be a good start.

    Hello Punit,

You should find out which "Checking rule" the STO is using. To do so have a look into the following customizing point:

    • "SPRO --> Materials Management --> Purchasing --> Purchase Order --> Set up Stock Transport Order -->Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule by Plant"

Look for your document type and supplying plant combination and check which "Checking rule" it's assigned.

Then go to the customizing point OVZ9 and have a look to the settings this "Checking rule" has in combination of the material's availability checking group.

You should discuss it with your key-users but most probably you would like to have the same "Checking rule (i.e. "A") than the one you have in sales orders (in order to have the same scope, in other words, in order to apply the same logic).

    Best regards,

    Fortian

Normally in standard system -if you have 10 Qty at your plant and If you create 10 different sales orders for the same plant with diffrent customers with 10 Qty each-system will confirm all these ten sales orders and the actual check can happen during delivery level--what is happening in your case..pl confirm.
