BIDF or BIDU cannot be used with Replenishment WOs

Dear Experts,

We have been trying to use bin denial exception code BIDF to trigger WT creation from alternate source bin during execution of a Replenishment WO. However, the WO gets confirmed without creating alternate task while we have enough stock in alternate bins. RF exception code configuration looks fine since we are able to trigger alternate task with BIDF on stock removal WO (against PDO). Any hints to get this working will be much appreciated.

Hi,

ok, I have tried - and get the same result. The system does not create a second WT for picking the rest from an alternative bin.

Now my first instinct would be to tell you to open a ticket, as it looks like a bug to me, and to get an official answer (and of course you are free to do so). But I can imagine a reason for this type of behavior, at least valid for replenishment. For replenishment you can maintain a minimum replenishment quantity (at least on item level, same place where you maintain the minimum and maximum quantities for the replenishment calculation). The idea of this minimum replenishment quantity is that you do want to replenish only full quantities of pallets, boxes, or whatever that quantity represents, but no partial quantity should be left in the source bin. But that would happen in the above scenario with a second WT. Again, this is speculation, maybe it is just a bug.

Thanks a lot Juergen, That now confirms that I am not missing any config here.

My tests also indicated this would only work for stock removal against PDO.

Hi Shashidhar,

Did you get any solution for this behaviour?
On a production supply process with activity REPL, I am also using exception code BIDU, and the system does not work the same way as it does for activity PICK.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Juergen,

Yes, I have allowed the business context "TIM" and step "05" for BIDF. Also assigned Internal Process code "BIDF".

I am able to enter BIDF in RFUI, but system just returns to the RF screen with WO confirmed already, without creating alternate task.

Stock removal strategy is setup to find source bin and I can confirm that the bins with stock exist.

Hi,

the obvious question: have you checked the assigned Business Context for the exception code? It really is TIM and the correct step? And the subsequent customizing?
