Linked Word document is not updated when run under RAS9

I added a Word document to Crystal Reports 9 as a linked OLE object and verified that it is updated when I update external Work document (placed in a network share). However it is not updated when run from application using RAS 9. Should I install Microsoft Word on Crystal server machine?

Hello,

Moved your post to the .NET Forums. Not sure what SDK you are using though.

In version 9 the only time the linked objects were updated was when the report is opened, refreshing won't update the object either.

CR XI R2 and above now supports a linked object through a database field. No option to roll it back into 9 now, 9 is past it's end of life.

Thanks a lot Don. That answered my question. We'll soon update to XI R2 version and will be able to use new functionality.
