Automatic Batch Determination during Goods issue of Production Order

Hi,

Iam trying to set up automatic batch determination during Goods Issue against a production order. My requirement is system should automatically run the batch determination similar to the case in production order.

I have set up all the required configs for batch determination. But to get the batch I need to click on the batch determination button. What I need is without clicking on anything. How can I do this. Whats the config needed

Dear Enrico

It is required lot of set up both in production order parameters and Batch Managemnet .I am providing you a summery of it .

Configuration Required for your above issue are as follows :

1.Activated Batch Management in the Material Master-MRP2 view and Work Scheduling view of the FG

2.check material master MM02, tab MRP2 and set field "Batch Entry" to value 3 here

4.You maintain a Search Procedure in OPL8 - Order Type Dependent parameters .Before that you should have Batch serach strategy :The sequence of steps are as follows -

Create Condition Tables

Create Access Sequences

Create Strategy Types

Batch Search procedure definition

Batch Search procedure allocation and check activation

Define Selection classes

Define sort rules

Maintain Batch Allocation Strategy Number Ranges

All the above are available in the Path - SPRO --->Logistics-General ---> Batch Management ---> Batch Determination and Batch Check

5.Maintain the setting in T.code OPKP (production scheduling profile). Select automatic batch creation on order creation.

6.If u want to execute the batch determination for components in the component overview of production order , then u have to create batch search strategy at COB1

7.If u want to execute during order confirmation u have to create batch search strategy at MBC1.

Hi,

I have set up the config for batch determination already and its working fine also. I mean during confirmation in the goods movement screen when I select the material and click on the batch determination button, the batch is getting picked up automatically.

But my requirement is, I dont want to click on the batch determination tab and the system should pick the batch automatically. This is happening in production order before release. there is no need to click on anything and system will automatically populate the batch. Why this is not happening in confirmation. Am I mssining something in config or SAP doesnt allow this?

I have seen a thread related to it and mentioned that he could find the solution. But has not mentioned how did he achieve it.

Dear,

Prior to my frist reply , assuming that your Batch Managemnet config set up are in place .Now , please follow the belwo steps for Auto Batch Determination in CO11N or Oredr Confirmaiton.

1.On the initial screen of your application choose Logistics>centrel function>batch management>Batch determination>For process order -->Batch search strategy --> Create.

2.On the initial screen of your application choose Batch search strategy -->Create. Choose the strategy type, say choose co02

If you want to see a list of the strategy records available, choose Strategy info.

3.Choose the key combination-Enter the required dat-->say plant ,production order type, product,valid from and component for which you want to have this

4.Choose Selection criteria push button If no values have been entered, enter the selection class and the characteristic values.

5.Go back to the screen on which you create a batch search strategy.

6.Choose Sort if required(it should be defined earlier(in CO70- here you are giving the charateristic name on which you want to sort)

7.Choose a sort sequence.save.

8.Check also in OPL8, for the combination of plant and order type...you have selected search procedure-Co0001 .This is linked to stg what you have eneterd above the "strategy type" (COB1) depends from the "search procedure" in OPL8

9.Now perform CO11N and chek in Goods Movement Tab wether batch is automatically generated or poped up.

hi,

i too have the same issue..Batch is triggering only if we click on Batch Determination button in CO15. If we didnt click on Batch determination button, it is taking the latest batch. How can we avoid this?

Hi Enrico,

For the movement type 261 in OMJJ, for classifcation, make it as '1' classification in background & then check.
