MPs at second level of BOM

Former Member

Hi,

I have a header material A-MRP type -PD. independent requirements maintined in MD61 for 25 qty.

I have a bom compoennet B directly below A -MRP type -M1.

Now when multilevel MRP is run for A using MD02 , i see no dependent requirements are generated for B.

when single level MPs is run for B using MD42, no requirements are genrated for B.

How do we plan MPS items used as a BOM component. Is maintining separated PIR for B the only option to plan second level MPS bom items.

closing thread. i am reaching to the conclusion that MPS should not be used as a second level of bom.

This should work with normal setting . I don't see any issues . Verify any setting in the MRP view fields such as Mixed MRP indicator or Dependent requirements planning

And if you want to use PIR at the dependent level : Try with option of strategy 70 or VSFB ( I think it is 56 ) will help you . These strategies will help in consuming of the PIR to the GI to the production order . Very good in working with PIR at the semi finished goods

Hi Jial,

Here are the seting:

Header materail ptest1-MRP type PD, Depdnent requiremnt = blank in mrp 4 so depedent req gets generated.

Bom component: ptest2-mrp type m1 ptf = 30 days

Bom compoenent :ptest3-mrp type pd.

Pir entered for ptest 1 for next 3 months .

ptest 3 gets planend perfectly as dependent requiremnt

But ptest2 remains unchnaged. No requirements , No purchasing proposals generated fior the same.

I know if i chnage mrp type of header to MPs it would work. also i can plan mps at second level using 70.

i am just testing i scenario , of what would happen if MPs comes as a BOM item for a header material of type PD and i see it completely gets unnoticed. please comment.

Dear Santosh

I v tested your scinario.My setup was like this : PIR -FG -M6-10, M7-200,M8-1000 (Monthly )

FG : TEST234 MRP TYPE : PD Planning Strategy : 10 Indi/Coll : Blank Stock : 0

ROH : TEST MRP Type : M1 Planning Strategy : 40 Indi/Coll : 2 PTF : 30 Stock : 0

ROH: TEST6 MRP Type : PD Plng St : 40 Indi/Coll : 2 Stock : 0

It is running perfectly with this set up .I am getting Two PR for TEST /TEST6 and Planned Order for FG.I run MRP with NETCH, 2,1,3,3,2 with diplay material before save marked .

Observation : As PTF -30 days for TEST , I have seen a firmed PR generated as per the BOM qty with the PTF -Check in MD04.

I hope this combination should work .Check if you are missing something .

Regards

Hi Jiaul,

Not sure what is ahppening? i ahve a very same setting as you. i have a question why you are maintaining planning stategy 40 for child componenets of BOM. I am not doing the same. I do not have nay planning stategy maintained for child comepoenst. i want them to be planned directly as dependent requirements.

whats your accenture id? i work in idc pune.

Dear ,

1.What is planning Time Fence kept in material master MRP1 view for B?

2.Did you check the MRP4-VIEW MRP.Dep.Req filed is blnk in A ?

3.Assing M0 in MRP1 view of A and run MPS in MD02 Test the result

Generally , if you maintian PTF with M1 combination , there will not be any change or requrimet will not be treated from MRP date to till PTF periods.Basically , if it is M1 then procurement proposals within the planning time fence are firmed automatically as soon as their date is at least one day before the end date of the planning time fence. The date of new procurement proposals created in the planning time fence is moved to the end date of the planning time fence. As a result, these new procurement proposals are not firmed.

You can use strategy 40 for A

Check both of them and come back

Regards
