When creating a new ee through PA40, in 'Create Action' screen (2nd screen), key in the reference pernr . This way, certain infotypes (config) will be copied over to the new pernr.

Hi,

I've been in that situation too, but I end up using old personnel number and reenter action. there are things to consider when using new personnel number when renewing contract:

1. It's much simple to use reenter action, all history is keep, not to mention the appraisal and much other things. much much more easier

2. When using new number do you want to keep the old organizational movement history? if you do then the two personnel number might show as double when viewing organizations number, 2 personnel number with exactly OM history, if you're not then u are missing the real history, switch back to old personnel number to see the history you might say, yes but it's time consuming, and you have to maintain the old sap number to in the new personnel number.

but if you still want to use new number then u can use reference personnel number, if you enter the old pernr in the reference personnel number (which appear in action infotype) SAP will copy infotypes to the new person. But you have to configure which infotype that will be copied (img > pers Adm > Customizng Procedure > Infotypes > Infotypes > select the infotypes > thick the copy infotype). But even if you have done this, some infotype might still not be copied. check this note if that happen

OSS notes 1085778, 1101722, 1118086, 1226382, 1245104, 1085778,

Hope it help.
