Periodic posting of Contract directly posted to Cost Center

Former Member

Dear RE experts.

I need to post a lease-in contract directly to cost center. Actually the cost center assignment is not inside the contract but assigned in the RO. This RO become an object in that Contract. When I run period posting for that lease-in contract, the acounting document resulted in the GL account "occupation cost" has no cost center.

How I can have the accounting document posted to related cost center?

Thanks.

Zaki

Hi Zaki,

you may define a distribution rule for the condition and there the cost center as target object. Transfer posting (in RERAPP) posts then the costs from contract to cost center.

Hi Franz.

I've created a new distribution rule in customizing for the cost center as follows:

Internal formula: Object

Distrib.Object type: Rental object.

Then I created new contract with distribution formula cost center. There is an error message "Enter parameter Object for distribution formula Cost center". Please help as it could be a wrong customizing.

Thanks.

Hi Zaki,

please change your distribution formula as follows:

Distrib. Object Type 0 (Any)

You may also refer to SAP delivery customizing (in client 000). SAP delivers the distribution formula D as template that can be used for assigning other object types.

Please check also that distribution to cost center is allowed for the contract type in customizing.

Hi Franz.

Thanks for your guidelines. The contract now can be posted to cost center as I defined the condition to have distribution rule as D-Object then I fill in the cost center there. This posting to cost center is resulted if I choose the type of posting run as REDT-Periodic posting+Transfer.

Zaki, Can the similar situation can be used for Internal leases. for example One department is leaseing space to another department (cost center). Since on the Org Assign. tab we cannot assign costcenters how is the internal postings performed.

Thank you.

Hi RE_Flex,

in this case we usually configure a contract type as 'internal' which gives then a possibility to maintain in "Posting parameters" an "Account assignment" ( Cost Center / Project / Order ) instead of a Business Partner. The internal postings will be perfromed: first from this Cost Center to the Contract itself and then according to the distribution rules.

Siarhei, So when you execute periodic posting with Transfer the entries would be?

FI Posting:

Dr Cost Center (who is occupying the space)

Cr Contract

Transfer Posting:

Dr. Contract

Cr. Rental Object

Distributed to Cost Center (Owner) based on dist. rule

Any other entries I'm missing? Also, would you create a Internal Lease-In and Internal Lease-Out as well?

Thank you.

Yes, exactly. Though actually we use another Distribution Obj. Type namly 'RO' instead of 'Any' so it gets posted like you sad but not on the Cost Center of the Owner.

And we do not use any Internal Lease-Out contracts till now.

Franz:

I customized that but it is not working, Object field does not let me add any cost center spite of I let Cost Center distribution for contract, just show me RO and BU

Are there some missing?

Thanks
