How to create PO directly from SO in ByDesign?

Dear Experts,

The scenario is similar to Third Party Order but not exactly the same. The PO is created after the SO is created, and the the goods will be delivered from the supplier to my warehouse first, and then deliver to end customer.

The question is, we would like to know which PO comes from which SO. Is it possible to automatically create a PO after a SO is created? Or any way to link these two processes?

Thank you very much.

Hi Michelle,

as per my experience, when you run the MRP every link between Demand document (SO, Project Stock Order) during the run and Supply Document (Purchase Proposal, Purchase Request, PO) is lost.

The information is visible in the Material Flow (in the MRP screenshot attached.erp-0011469.png), but then is not available anymore in the Data Sources or Reports.

How we solved this issue in the cases in which such link is mandatory, is to create an extension field in the Purchase Request line item level, and manually input the source value (e.g. SO reference).

Alternatively, per standard SAP ByDesign, you can create Product Specifications which will be unique for the Sales Order Line item, and will link to the Identified Stock product that you inbound via PO.

Best regards,

Antonio

Update:

since couple of releases, a custom-report can be created by merging:

"Material Supply and Demand Keyfigures" => SCMPDV01

Material Supply and Demand List => SCMMSDVV02"

"Purchase Order Item Details" => SRMPO_B02

This will allow the creation of a "Supply and Demand" overview which connects the Customer Demand with the Vendors Supply which can help the Supply Chain manager gets the full overview in a similar way as in the MRP view.

With best regards,

Antonio

Hi Deena,

Thank you very much for your reply. However, there is no inventory records as the inbound delivery and outbound delivery automatically occurred at the same time. I would need to receive the goods in my warehouse first and then deliver to end customers. Please kindly share if there is any workarounds.

Thank you again.

Regards,

Michelle
