Error while viewing AutoCad file

Hi all,

We have created a document using CV01N in Production server and attached some files.All the files are opening but the Auto Cad files its throwing some error. Wwhile i have compared in the quality client (configs), i found MIME type is missing. Is this the reason? If its so please provide the MIME type for Auto Cad files.

Hi Venu,

MIME type for autocad file is "application/acad" and also you need to install ECL Viewr 6.0 with Patch for displaying the autocad files in SAP DMS.

I hope this will resolve the query.

There could be several reasons for this, I'm sure you must have tested and verified some of the below here are few things that I can think of please verify them,

1. Work station application definition: here make sure you have defined the required set ups

2. Data carrier for AutoCAD

3. Start athorization settings

4. File format set ups etc

Mime type has nothing to do with it, I don't think its the reason for your error. Did you test this in your quality or dev system does it work well in those environments?

Hi,

Its working fine in quality.When i try to test in Production, its throwing the error as This file does not have a programme associated with it for performing this action, please install a programme or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default programs control panel.

Dear Venu,

based on this message I think that the reason is a different value maintained under 'Define workstation application in network' for the used workstation application in transaction DC30. For using the ECL Viewer please made sure that the following parameter value is maintained here: EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL%

Further please made sure that a suitable value is set for the field 'Suffix' (e.g. dwg) too.
