Alert Engine sometimes fails to generate Alert

Hello Experts,

In our SAP PI System (7.40 SP12) we created Alert Rules, defined Consumers and assigned Integrated Configurations to this Alert Rules.

Normally when an error occurs, the message is marked as Error in Monitoring and an Alert is triggered so we receive a notification e-mail.

However, once in a while, there is no Alert. This happens rarely, maybe only once a month. In Monitoring we find a message marked as Error, but no Alert and no notification mail is generated.

This happens with different Integrated Configurations, but is apparently not connected to the Alert Rule, IC or error type itself (we know this because in other instances we do receive Alerts for the same Alert Rule/IC/Error combination!)

In Log Viewer we couldn’t find any connected error messages.

Do you have any idea why this is happening?

Is it possible that the Alert Engine sometimes loses Alerts while transferring them from master to consumer queues?
