Delete Project

Dear PS gurus,

When we try to put deletion flag in one of my project via CJ20n, the error is thrown that the sales order document is not complete.

System status is Closed, Order accepted, Results analysis carried out, Settlement rule created.

What are the steps needed to get the deletion flag on the project?

check the status and status overview of sales order assigned to the project.

Checked the sales order status:

Overall status: being processed

Delay status: not delayed

Delivery status: Not delivered.

Order related billing: Fully invoiced

System status: REL noMP

The system is not allowing the user to delete the project.

System status of a project defination is closed, but the Top WBS having sales order.

hi,

sales order system status should be TECO. check with your sd consultant what is the further documents to set status as complete.

I think there is problem in inviced qty.

Regarding Sales order status, i investigate & found that the ststus must be Completed.

Its fine, but my question is deletion flag to close project is it best practice??

Hi Ansar,

Deleting a project completely from the system is a business call. I mean in your case the system status of the project is Closed i.e. all the activities associated with the project have been completed and there is nothing else to be done on that particular project.

Usually to avoid the system performance getting hampered projects are archived.

It again depends on the business process. Regarding Best Practices lets wait for others to comment.

You mean to say setting deletion flag to project having status closed refer to Archiving.

Yes in our business process we give residence time to order type. Let me investigate.

Need some more inputs.
