Attach screenshot to support message via "paste"

Dear all,

is it possible to attach a screenshot to a support message instantly after i did it (print key)?

I don't want to save the screenshot, but just attach it via paste (ctrl+v) or a similar function.

Regards

Daniel

Dear Daniel,

When a Support Desk message is created from the Managed system into Solution Manager, only Text types are transferred from the managed system to the Solution Manager directly. Attachments can be added as additional Files but not in the main body of the message.

Since the screenshot is not of type "Text", it is not possible in the current setup to paste a screenshot directly to the message. You will have to add it as a attachment.

Dear Amit,

thank you for your response. I'm sorry i did not make myself clear. It is completly okay for me to add the screenshot as an attachement. My question is, do i have to save the screenshot first before i can attach it, or is there a way where i can just hit the print key on my keyboard and attach the picture directly from the cache into the message.

Dear Daniel

That is exactly what I was trying to explain.

When the message data is transferred to Solution Manager, only Text fields and Fields of type Text are transferred along with any attachments.

Now when you try to make a copy of a image into the Text field of the message, the interface cannot demark it as a Snapshot / Screenshot and isolate and make a attachment out of it.

Hence the copy / paste would never work.

Hello Daniel,

for this issue we have created a windows dll this create automatic a screenshot of the current screen and attach this to the message .

The better solution is to copy&paste the image in the text but this not work with SAP....

If you are interested in this dll please post a reply with a contact data.

Hi

This is something that I think sounds both nice and interesting...

Can someone explain more in detail how this works?

This issue can be solved by using method get_screenshot of class cl_gui_frontend_services when creating support message.

But there are some prerequisites for usage :
