Pack Spec condition types 0PAL & 0WHT

Hi All,

I have 0IBD in pack spec and HU creates perfectly while the inbound delivery is created in EWM.

I need to know the use of 0PAL and 0WHT condition types.

Did some searching and got its used for this- "Palletization and setting of alternative UoM in an inbound process without HU (large parts)."

But I didn't understand much out of it.

Can anyone please explain with some example why these two condition types used for?

Thanks,

Hi,

OK, for clarification: the condition type does not matter. What is important is the determination procedure. Because this is what you assign to the different determination points in customizing (like in your system to the inbound delivery type). Now in the BC Set filled standard system the name of the condition types you have listed, and the determination procedures are the same, but it is important to understand the difference. Correction, the names are mostly the same. Actually, in my system the condition type 0WHT is in the determination procedure 0WHTA, so the name is a little bit different, but this is because the field length is different. But this also means you could use the determination procedure 0IBD instead of 0PAL and 0WHTA just by assigning them instead. (Sorry if I am rambling… 😊)

So, have you checked where the determination procedures 0IBD, 0PAL and 0WHTA are assigned to in customizing?

0IBD obviously is assigned to your inbound delivery document type (you can check in customizing Extended Warehouse Management -> Goods Receipt Process -> Inbound Delivery -> Define Document Types for Inbound Delivery Process. Check the document category PDI and there it should show the “PackMatPropProc” 0IBD. And if the pack spec has the flag “HU creation” set on the pack level this will automatically create an HU.

In the standard 0PAL and 0WHTA are assigned on warehouse level. In customizing at Extended Warehouse Management -> Master Data -> Define Warehouse Number Control. In the Determination Procedures for Condition Technique you should find an entry for “Proced Whse-Int.Proc” with 0WHTA and for “Palletization Proc” with 0PAL.

Palletization procedure: this happens when you create a WT for an inbound delivery, but BEFORE your press create. If you check in the transaction on the tab “Palletization”, there you would find the information found in a pack spec with the determination procedure. In the end this would be the same as you have now with the automatic HU creating – just without HU.

Procedure warehouse internal processes: this also happens during WT creation, but a moment later then the palletization, and for inbound as well for outbound. This is used to determine what a full pallet, a carton or a single piece is. For this you have to enter the quantity classification in the pack spec on the different levels and use the quantity classification for the storage type (and pick rule) determination. For a storage type with the behavior bulk storage this is also used to determine what a partial / full quantity is.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!
