Hello,
We use folder hierarchy to manage DIRs, but it seems that batch data transfer tools such as LSMW cannot transer DIR data with the folder hierarchy info and originals as well. The amount of document data is considerable, are there any methods to transfer DIRs with folder hierarchy and originals together?
Hi,
To retain the information like that of the folder structure from your legacy set up you can utilize Document heirarchies or document structure. This makes sense if teh docments we are talking about are non CAD files. If the docments are CAD files standard CAD integration tools will retain teh relations between the parts and the assemblies.
Cideon Data import tool can be used for data migration. Certain level programming can also be done using scripting to introduce custom functionalities as this.
Hope this helps

Hi,
By using LSMW you can't transfer the original files. The solution for your query is that you need to use the BDC recording for the same. This is abap activity. By using BDC program, you can mass upload with originals.
t-code is SHDB for the same.
I hope this will resolve the query.

Hi,
Though have never worked on this scenario so far, however if your data volume is large,'CIDEON Import PDM' product helps to automatically import data masses to SAP wherein document hierarchies are created by removing the external references.Do refer the product brochure via the below link and see if it correctly fits your requirement.
