Sub-Categorize GL Account

Hi All,

We have option to categorize GL account at first level through FS00->Type/Description->Account Group (say Current Asset). What if we need to classify GL account further, say Cash or Bank or Debtor etc.?

Is there any room to perform such configuration?

Nayab,

While creating the account group, you should create as per the requirement.

Banks - Current A/c

Bank - Deposits

Banks - Postal chqs

Cash & Bank - Cash

Inventory

Loans & Advances

Other Receivable-Inter co

Other Receivables

Clearing Accounts InterCompany

Trade Receivables

If you create the acount groups like above, it is easy to categorize the gl accounts.

Thanks for your reply.

That's the alternate and effective solution, however there should be such classification so I can generate reports at First Level as well as at Second Level. This functionality is available in Asset Master Data.

Thanks!

Hi,

You can group the G/Ls for your reporting by creating Financial Statement version (OB58). Thus, you'll be able to make the categories, assign the G/Ls to them and present it in the trial balance reports.

Thanks for your reply Eli.

The issue is with the FSTs through txn fse1 is I can only generate :

1) Accounts which have non-zero balance

2) Cannot re-use its sub-category to info-sets queries etc.

Any other solution?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm not sure what FSE1 is... I have no such transaction. I'm talking of OB58, where you are free to define as many groups as you wish in hierarchical way.

Thanks again for your quick reply.

FSE1 does the same as OB58. But I'm not sure if I can re-use its category.
