calibration equipment status change window is empty

hello all

I have checked the forum for previous answers to this question but the 2 links I found, do not provide any answer and are quite confused.

Issue:

we have calibration equipment which has been created as Test equipment with PRT data filled in.

Follow up actions have been defined for setting the order to TECO and changing the equipment status when rejected.

The inspection lot is being created and results recorded (just set to rejected) for the equipment.

The Usage Decision is set to "Cannot be used" and I save and at this point, the popup window "Status change for object" appears.

the window contains the correct maintenance plan on top but in the "Technical object" part, where there should be the Equipment number, actual status and proposed status next to the object number, the columns are empty.

any idea what I am still missing? I am not a QM specialist, I have basic knowledge so your help is much appreciated

first step is result recording (Just forced to Reject)

    second is UD, Reject

SAVE and the popup appears as in Screenshot

I will ask the question differently:

I would like to achieve the following:

    1) calibration order is generated from a plan

    2) inspection is generated

    3) equipment is being calibrated either internally or by an external company

    3) equipment is being inspected visually

    4) if possible, no results are being registered in the system; only UD is the important part

    5) UD is taken: if accepted, follow up action is PM order is set to TECO and if rejected, equipment must receive status Not Available.

Can someone help me with the configuration?

The equipment is set up with a material master?

Your aren't just assigning the equipment to the inspection as a PRT are you?

If its assigned as a PRT its not being inspected, its used for inspection.

And I kind of thought that you need to have a follow-up action run as part of the UD to update the equipment status. The follow-up action is a user object, not an SAP object. So you'd need a programmer to modify it for your companies use. They should be able to troubleshoot this through the debugger.

    • hello Craig

      thank you for your reply.

in Plant Maintenance it is not necessary to have a material assigned: in fact, the inspection does recognize the equipment and its number is displayed (see screen shots above) but when the popup window that should contain the equipment number and status to be changed appears, it is empty. It is a QM issue more than PM. The PM settings are correct

    Hi Alisa.

If you want to change PM order Status to TECO and Equipment status to Not available; please check below configuration settings.

You have to setup UD selected set Codes with Follow-up actions and maintain certain Function modules into Configuration settings.

    1. Go to SPRO>Quality Management> Quality Inspection> Inspection Lot completion >Define Follow-up actions >Follow-up Actions

Select "QM_PM_1" Or the one that you can Use and Make sure that below FMs are assigned

QFOA_OBJECT_STATUS_SET - For changing equipment status to NPRT. Please remember, to have its effect, You also need to complete Inspection point while you record results. so you may need to re-think about point [(4) if possible, no results are being registered in the system; only UD is the important part)] You may need to customize a FM to have a custom Status set. Explore!!!

QFOA_ORDER_TECHNICAL_COMPLETE - For Technically Completing "TECO" a PM Order.

    2. QS53 - Open the Selected Set you are using for UD of PM order Inspection Lots and Assign a Followup Action used in the Step 1 for relevant codes.

    • hello Amol

      thank you for your reply.

the status of the order changes to TECO, I have no problem there.

I do have a problem with the status of the equipment. I did the steps in customizing already and in fact the popup window that should propose the new status, appears.

I am not a QM specialist so I will describe the steps I perform: I start transaction QA32 and record the results just with setting the status to Rejected and I force the closure. Then I go to the UD and there I can see the Characteristics and the rejection in tab Characteristics, and the equipment number in Tab Equipment.

I set the status of the UD to Reject/cannot be used and I can see in the field of the follow up actions that the correct QM_PM is being selected. Then I save: the popup window that should contain the equipment number(s), current status and proposal appears but it is empty! the correct maintenance plan appears in the window but other than that, the window is empty.

you can see the screen shots I attached in my previous message.

what do you think? what am I missing?

You asked me for my thoughts. Yes, I know you CAN set it up without the material master. (reference the comments on my earlier answer)

What I'm suggesting is that if you want that FM to work it HAS to be set up with a material master which is an option.

And again, I'm not 100% sure of that, but its what I kind of remember.

Have you tried it? Any reason not to try it as a test in a lower environment?

It's doesn't seem like you have anything to lose from testing it and trying it. No one else has seemed to offer up any suggestions.

This may be a stupid question, but are all your inspection points valuated? They should be or I would think you have an error when you make the UD.

Also, you might get an abap'er to set a breakpoint in FM qelb_pm_object_status_set which is called by the FM. I believe in here is were the equipment numbers would be called to change the status.

The form for creating the pop-up is FORM ausgabe_liste_popup_26

Because if I understand, you are getting the pop-up but no equipment number values. So it might be a select statement in that FM that is not getting the data you would expect. Figuring that out might indicate what is missing.
