Hi Everyone,

Thanks for reading the question.

We are facing issues integrating the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Java Portal Integration kit(BusinessObjectsPortlets.war) with WebSphere Portal. After lots of hard work we have integrated it successfully, but the problem is the actions are not working in Internet Explorer 6 when we try to open the report. Also, the Document View and Document List portlets are not working properly on Internet Explorer 7 and 8 versions. Only on Mozilla FireFox the integration is working without any issues.

The problem that we are facing on the IE7 and 8 is, when we click on folder in the Document List portlet "Page Cannot be displayed" is coming and sometimes the links works properly, but when we click on the report to show in the Document View portlet then a pop up will be shown after the page reloads saying that "You are about to visit the content on a secure site" and it asks for a confirmation(Yes/No). When we click on Yes, "Page cannot be show" is displayed.

Please let us know what setup needs to do be done for IE 7 and 8 versions. And, for IE 6 did we miss any settings as the links are not working all the time. Kindly let me know any inputs/suggestions ASAP as we are already on the deadlines.

Thanks & Regards,

Vijay.

What version of Websphere are you using? For what you are describing you are running into a known problem - problem caused by a particular version of the portal.

From the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI readme notes:

The combination of Webpshere Portal 6.1 and Internet Explorer is not supported in Business Objects Portlets because of a limitation in both platforms. URl's in Websphere Portal 6.1 get longer each time they are generated and surpass the IE 6&7 URL length limit of 2048 characters. Other browsers are not affected by this Websphere Portal 6.1 issue because they support at least 80,000 characters.

If you are still experiencing the problem after patching/upgrading your portal then please escalate to Technical Support.

Kind Regards,

The Portal version we use is 6.1.5. The integration is working well in Fire Fox and Google Chrome. Only on IE 6,7 & 8 the issues exists. Is there any solution for this?

Couple of key points:

- IE 8 is not supportted in XI3.1

- Webspher Portal 6.1.5 is not a supported portal version (internally we have recently started to understand that there are a lot of changes to WPS 6.1.5 version)

Can recreate these issues on a supported browser and WebSphere portal version?
