Multi-Branches and Users Authorizations in SAP Business One

Hi there!

we would like to get your valuable help about an urgent issue,

as we know, one of the purposes of the Multi-Branches feature in SAP Business One, is to separate the business entities, and assign users to one or more of these entities, kind of saving the security and privacy of these sectors,

but unfortunately, all our tests didn't work, when creating a branch, and have all its configurations done, then assigning a user to it, proposing that, this user won't see the accounts' balances of the other branches, and won't be able to review the Accounts and BP statements, but quite the contrary, the user can review everything, as we didn't achieve anything!

could you please help us to know, if that possible, to save the security and privacy to other branches, when assigning a user to one of these branches, by can't anymore review the accounts and BP balances and statements,

Many thanks in advance,

Hello Kenan,

Additional comments for data ownership by branches:

Data which was created before the company started managing multiple branches, is assigned to a predefined system branch which is visible to the user only when the user is assigned to this predefined branch.

As to accounts visibility, when opening accounts choose from list from any form in the system, user can view in the list:

- accounts with no branch assignment

- accounts which relate to branches which match the user branch assignment

Note! If the user is authorized to Financial => Chart Of Accounts, then he can see all accounts.

Dear Shula,

Thanks for your reply, the case;

I have about 200 branches around the globe, and implementing the Multi-Branches feature must serve the personality of each single branch, for example;

all our branches are working on the same company database, and on one CoA,
we want the employee from the branch 1, can't see what aren't assigned to his branch, either the Accounts Statements even the Accounts balances for the accounts aren't assigned to his branch,

Hope this is clear, BR

Kenan,

In fact, multiple branches work exactly as intended, and is used intensively. In countries like Brazil even with almost every SAP Business One installation.

Check help.sap.com on Multiple Branches, such as

Dear Peter,

Thanks for your helping, but;

  • We're working with SBO 9.2 PL08, as you can see we can't enable the Data ownership with Branch,
  • Data Ownership can help with the document type level, not secure the accounts' balances and statements from being reviewed by whom not assigned to it,
  • The configuration process being done after almost one year working, that means have pre-posted transactions and pre-created accounts, and after the configuration process being done, all the pre-created data before this date, can't be assigned to a branch, making it available to all users in all branches,

Hope getting your help with the previous points,

BR,
