Can anyone clarify:
We transfer our costs through the Assessment Cycles which includes Primary as well as secondary cost elements.
The secondary cost elements cannot be seen in the SAP FI Trial Balance. Then where are the values getting posted and how do i ensure that my Trial Balance is correct without secondary cost elements? Do they really affect my FI Trial Balance?
The client wants to know and show this in trial balance? Kindly assist..........
Hi,
Secondary Cost Elements will only trigger when you do postings in Controlling Module Like: Assesments, distruibutions and Repostings and therefore cannot effect your trial balances

Trial Balance is aummary of accounting transactions. P&L and BS is made out of it. Cost related information is not there. In CO we make use of the fdatafrom FI and do further analysislike allocating to cost centeres internal orders etc..
This is aseparate set of records in the Controlling area. For GL accounts of exp and and revenue category we create cost elements and revenue elements to take the data to CO. In fact even primary cost elements are not shown in Trial balance, it the gl account corresponding to cost element.
So nothing related to CO will come in FI reports, trial balance etc..
Data from multiple company codes can be brought to one controlling area.
Hope now it is clear....

Hi,
Posting on secondary cost elements (as well as on primary, if done only in CO) has no effect on FI reports. These postings are a part of CO module and could be extracted only with CO reports.
Please, read basic SAP material...

Hi,
Secondary cost element never effect your FI posting.
It is used for internal allocation of cost only.
