Don't see Date Calender for Variable

Former Member

Hello,

I have created crystal reports on top of Bex Query, I have variable for Cal/Day in Bex and when I run the Bex query I see date calender for the variable but in crystal report variable is coming as string, so I see all the dates in drop down menu but I don't see the calender. Did anybody face this issue before?

Thanks,

Ravi

Can I use the variable on rows and colums? Would it work properly in WebI and Crystal?

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi,

the prompt will work properly but will not be exposed as an actual type "date" in CR>

HI Ingo,

Thanks for your reply.. But User want the Calender for the date parameter, Is there any workaround for this? They don't want to select the dates from drop down menu.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi,

dates are treated as a string input when coming from BW - no workaround available

The problem ist that the user has to choose a value from the drop-down box. Manual input of the date does not work properly. How am I going to tell this my users? They will not accept this.

manual entry works as well - assuming you enter it in the proper format.

Crystal makes the Date datatype in Bex as a String, thats the behaviour per design in Crystal and also in WEBI till FP2.6.

Thanks,
