Deleting CBS

I am planning to delete the CBS (*D and *C) of a particular track. As I am getting multiple password/id errors when deploying to the runtime systems

According to some research/readings that I have done, the CBS can be regenerated by resaving the Tracks.

Is this true ? Has anyone tried this before ?

Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

You can verify if your deployment configuration in the track definition is correct by opening the Substitution variables view, which is directly below the deployment parameters. If you don't see any variables the connection failed.

You can find this on the Runtime Systems tab of your track in the Landscape Configurator of CMS.

    Hi WaiHon Lam ,

yes this is correct. You can delete CBS buildpaces and after you re save the track in CMS, the buildspaces will be recreated. CBS will load the sources from your custom SCs to CBS and will initialize all compartments. of course you have to checkin and import all SAP components again, after you deleted CBS buildspaces, so the builds are possible again.

But to be honest, I do not understand how this will resolve your problem. Deployment and password problems are almost never related to CBS buildspaces.

But nevertheless deleting CBS workspaces is no problem. because all relevant data can be reconstructed from DTR and CMS in CBS. You can even delete the whole track and recreate it with the same trackid and everything will work, because DTR workspaces will not get deleted automatically.

Hope this answer is what you where looking for

    Kind regards

      Thank you.

In actual fact why we took this route was due to the following error :

      The error is: java.lang.NullPointerException: null^M

We keep getting a (401) error and code changes are not deployed into the Development System.

This may be due to the fact we changed the NWDI_CMSADM ID under Landscape Configurator (to be identica with the respective ID on SLD).

For some reason, the Build does not happen anymore after the password change.

I gather, a regeneration of the CBS Buildspace will help resolve the issue.

Thank you for your answer. However, I am still getting some Broken DC errors - that will be something I would need to resolve now.

The deletion was successful and a resave regenerated the buildspaces of the CBS.

Only thing is that the SCs have to be reimported, thanks to all that have answered.
