If the date of position is 01.01.2010 and i wanted to change it to 01.01.2009 in simple maintenance what i am supposed to do.
should i select ppom_old and change?
Go to PO13 t code
select object and change the begin date or create the record with 01.01.2009.

you can change the position start date with the t-code "RE_RHBEGDA0".
follow the below path
1.Plan version - 01
2. Object Type - S
3. Object Id - Position id
4. old start date - position id old date
5. new start date - new date.

You can't change the Start date of object, if you want to do so, select the object & click the Copy button and then modify the date and that too the corresponding parent object should have the validity period from that date.

Yes it is right once the position is created from 01.01.2010 then in is not possible to change the start date. You can do one thing. Copy the old position to new position. If you don't want to do that then there is one bad method. You can change the start date in table level in debugg mode.

YOU may use tcode pp01 also to maintain the position startdate... Edit the Object Infotype by changing the start date to new one and save....
